On the monorail bit, it is not necessarily unsafe - in places such as the States and Japan, it is mandatory to have a catwalk between the beamways (in addition to something of a 'drip pan' for the lack of a better word to prevent falling objects hitting pedestrians, vehicles and neighbouring property).
In other words, KL Monorail was built with little consideration for safety.
As for touch n go,
Riders can only hope that the Touch n Go system that rapidKL will use in the future...will actually make sense.
It is supposed to be in place at the beginning of 2007...but there is no real clear info about how it is going to work.
Why keep it a secret?
Cheers, mya
